This is totally out of line, right?
Question by Abbey Isaacson: This is totally out of line, right?
So, my question is whether or not this violated my fourth amendment (unalienable) right.
I was playing volleyball and left my cell phone on the bleachers at my private school after school hours, along with two of my other friends. A teacher comes by and picks up my phone, goes through my texts, and turns me in to the athletics director because I said something mean about my MS director.
Constitution is broken right? She had no probable cause nor a warrant to search through my phone >:(

Pretty much. You have every right to rage, because that is a dick move by the teacher. Tell your parents about it, then contact school administration.

That was extremely rude of them. That totally violated your privacy. I would bring it up to the counselor that you dont feel safe leaving your things off your person because the staff violates your privacy and its extremely unsettling. Bring it up to someone, dont just let this stuff go!
Yes. It is. You should report it. The school could get sued for that, and the searcher can be fired.
